Summer 2022 Ceramics Workshop
with Teaching Artist Hannah Niswonger from Pots on Wheels! (POW!)

“Pots on Wheels!” was a 4-day, intensive ceramics Workshop with Teaching Artist Hannah Niswonger of Pots On Wheels! (POW!)
In this introductory course to clay materials and techniques, Youth Artists learned a variety of hand-building techniques and wheel-throwing, and glazed and fired their ceramic creations. For the program’s closing celebration, Youth Artists hosted a public program on The Greenway with the Pots on Wheels! mobile art truck to share their pottery making and decorating techniques with the public. Passers-by were invited to create a ceramic cup and take home a pre-fired cup made by the Youth Artists.
This program is offered as a collaboration between Urbano Project and Pots On Wheels! (POW!), an education and outreach project focused on sustaining creativity through collaborative ceramic programming.
