Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Lives and works between San Juan and Boston.

Grimaldi Baez earned a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (2008). Upon graduating he received the Genevieve McMillan travel grant, and in 2009 he spent a year in Puerto Rico studying the development of graphic art as a vehicle for promoting social justice. During his time in Puerto Rico, Grimaldi collaborated with the artists of La Corporacion Artist Studios to organize and facilitate an international printmaking workshop.

Grimaldi's work is heavily influenced by comic book graphic language. He blends factual histories with fantastic narratives to create surreal hybrid historical perspectives. Currently, Grimaldi splits his time between San Juan and Boston while continuing to develop projects promoting international graphic discourse.
